Who can participate?

The hackathon is open to individuals and teams of up to three people from around the world, except where prohibited by law. You must be 18 or have parental consent to enter. Employees of Liquid AI and their immediate families are not eligible.

What do I have to build?

Challenges change each hackathon. See the current Hackathon page or Discord. Hacks focus on local AI apps using Liquid Foundation Models and LEAP.

How do teams work?

Hackathons are for individual submissions. Clubs and schools are encouraged to share and participate widely.

How do prizes work?

Prizes vary per hackathon. Core $10K prize pool is split into awards depending on the hackathon format.

Who owns my project and code?

You do. Participants retain all intellectual property rights to their submissions. By entering, you simply grant Liquid AI a promotional license to showcase the public parts of your project (like your video demo and screenshots) on our website, in the LEAP Gallery, and on social media.

What are the submission requirements?

You must submit a public video demo and screenshots to the Discord channel, as well as a private .zip file of your code so we can verify you used the LEAP platform.

Do I have to give feedback on LEAP?

It is optional but highly encouraged. Your feedback helps us make the platform better for all developers.

How do I get paid if I win?

Winners will be required to sign a Prize Acceptance Agreement and provide necessary tax forms (like a W-9 for U.S. persons or a W-8BEN for international winners) before payment can be issued. All payouts and paperwork will be done through Bill.com.

How do I get help during the hackathon?

The best way to get help is in our Discord community. We have dedicated channels for each competition and for general help with setup, data, and deployment, with our team members available to answer questions.
